DayState / Brocock reliability question?

THANK YOU ALL for your feedback. It seems that both Brocock and Daystate are equally reliable. I just ordered a Redwolf for dedicated 100 yd BR shooting but I need to replace my bullpup for hunting. I know there is a lot of compassion for bolt guns but they just don't float my boat as well as a silky smooth side lever model.

Therefore, I am considering the Revere, Pulsar, Sniper XR, Concept XR or Commander XR.

A Synthetic stock is a definite plus for field work. Weight is a huge consideration as well. 100+ SHot count (in .22) would be nice too so I don't have to carry a peanut bottle in the field. So, I'm still looking for inputs on these models too if you are so inclined?

In case this helps -- my Commander was shooting CPD 14.3gr @ 965 FPS on high. I could get about... 40 or 50 shots filling to 230 bar. My Concept Lite shoots about 860 with CPD 14.3gr. So roughly 100 FPS less and I get about 30 to 40 shots.

Comparing and contrasting them, for me, here is what I like:

Concept Lite Pros/Cons

• Well balanced, I can shoot standing Weaver stance without an issue. It's very much like an M4 .223/5.56 and I can tripod support with a folded left hand against my chest and steady the rifle.
• Easier to grip, the rails on the side fit well
• All aluminum stock, I like it
• 100 FPS less power but pellets are quiet stable in flight
• Less shots
• Easier to work the bolt (moot point with XR series)

Commander Pros/Cons

• Greater FPS by about 100 FPS
• More shots (about 10 to 20)
• Regulator gauge

As it stands now if someone ran over my Concept Lite with a truck, I would buy another in a heartbeat.

Very happy to help. If you can envision holding an AR-15/M-16 LAR versus an M4, that's how I'd describe the difference between the Commander and the Concept Lite. I also like an air tube over an air bottle but both air rifles are exceptionally well constructed, accurate, and stable.

My Commander was a Lothar-Walter barrel (I recall), slingshot hammer, and Huma regulated at 150 bar

My Concept Lite is a german choked barrel, floating hammer, and Huma regulated at 150 bar (I believe)

The choked barrel really helps with accuracy -- I only shoot 14.3gr CPDs out of both rifles. I'm not chasing slugs because I have plenty of powder burners.

I am more accurate with the Concept Lite versus the Commander out to 75 yards. The Commander is more accurate out to +100 yards.

@igolfat8 - While I'm quickly falling in love with my new Revere, you likely won't be satisfied with the shot count for your needs. Mine falls off the reg after 63 shots. It's a .177, so a SWAG for .22 would be 50-55 shots. Very impressive given the size of the reservoir (162cc, tiny by today's standards), but you'd definitely have to carry a means to refill to get 100+.

Go for the Uragan. You won´t regret. Best deal for the money in the market!!

I currently own 3 Brococks.Two came based on how good the first was/is.I have a 2019 Bantam hr hp in .22. I have a 2020 xr .25 mag laminate.And lastly just bought a 2021 xr.22 mag cerakote. Here’s what I observed.Earlier magazines can be hit and miss.The new hinged plate mags are pretty decent.The aftermarket like CARM has great magazines too.Some Brococks had fill port oring failure issues.One of mine did from brand new.AOA sent me the tools and parts and I fixed myself by puting in a durometer70 oring.Issue gone now.All 3 guns are very robust build quality and are absolute tack driving powerhouses.The oldest Bamtam hr hp needs a couple felt cleaning pellets shot through it about every tin of redesign monsters.Other than that,I would certainly recomend these guns.Great hunting triggers,as I believe that is exactly what these guns were designed for.Expensive but worth it.Thats my final answer.

My Compatto .22 (4 years), Bantam Sniper HR (3 years) have been solid and reliable from day one. They have been joined by the latest incarnation, an Atomic XR. The Compatto set an extremely high bar, no headaches of any kind with these three. Just pull out the box and shoot, never tinkered with mine as the provided adjustments are plenty for what I do with them. Brococks are not just reliable, they're also consistently accurate, hold zero, and can take actual field use.

Would love an atomic or Ranger,but fill probes are a deal breaker for me,personally.

I've owned a Daystate for over a year and another Brocock for 2 years. Never had a problem with either. Very consistent airguns and great quality experiences from both brands. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend either brand.

I'll contribute to the necro thread...

I only a single PCP gun - my Brocock Concept XR. I honestly don't see the need to own another .22 rifle (other calibers understandably). It supports multiple speeds with the turn of a dial, is a tack driver, reliable and well built.

I'm not a collector - I just want a solid rifle that does what it says. I know there are people who like to buy multiple (usually cheap) PCP rifles and try a bunch out, but I'm not that person. Buy once, cry once. I don't window shop anymore.

My only caveat is the black rifle look. It's not bad, but honestly if Daystate made the same rifle with a wood stock, I would have bought that.
