I still love shooting this rifle, Daystate wolverine hp-r in .25 cal.but now i am trying to save up for a black wolf
i can only think of one reason..... ok make that two reasons: A) a gentle shot cycle B) more efficient use of air so an increased shot countWhy buy a Black, Red, Blue or even a mangy wolf when this gun shoots as accurately or better than those? I've owned them all and this is now my favorite.

My rifle, a .177, gets what the manufacturers specs say- 160 shots per fill. Can any of these other rifles do that? Yes, strength and weaknesses, but at the end of the day, it's all about hitting the "X" ring.i can only think of one reason..... ok make that two reasons: A) a gentle shot cycle B) more efficient use of air so an increased shot count
I enjoy all my Daystates, even the mechanical ones. they all have their strengths and weaknesses - i just wish i could win the stock lottery like ya'll.
I don’t like changing calibers and re-tuning, that’s why I have 15 air rifles. I tried tuning a Crown fom a high power down to .177. It was a disaster. Reg failed because of drastic change from 150 to 90 bar.I understand, maybe you're just ready for a change. I love DS rifles both mech and elec and have had a few of both. If I were going to just shoot, no tinkering, no changing, I'd definitely go DS. But I like to mess with airguns, I may want a soft shooting 177 today and a month from now Imight want to eradicate a groundhog or two with a 25 cal, so I like the FX Crown and Dream Tac.
I would LOVE to have a Black wolf and three barrels 177, 22&25, but I need both arms and legs. So if that's your fancy, I say go for it and enjoy the heck out of it.
My only admonition is that no matter how pretty and expensive it is, there's a lot cheaper guns that can easily match it. And that's an admonition to me as well.
Well..the only real chance to win the lottery is to buy a lottery ticket. From here the chances increase by millions...i can only think of one reason..... ok make that two reasons: A) a gentle shot cycle B) more efficient use of air so an increased shot count

Reduction of weightI don’t think the Black Wolf is any more accurate than other high end rifles. So, other than owning the latest and greatest, why buy one?
There is a difference between “I want” and “ I need”. If you saw the list high end airguns I’ve had over the years you might understand where I’m coming from. Everything has been less than $2500, and I just can’t swallow the quantum leap to $3500-4000.Reduction of weight
adjustable cheek
ability to tune the gun more easily and change calibers.
muzzle report.

fast forward:
Yesterday I did a scope swap between my Wolverine Sapphire and a Blackwolf, I’m still helping Norman figure out which scope he likes best. Lots of shots taken with both .177 platforms; the Wolverine Sapphire makes a distinctive “harder” mechanical sound at both action and muzzle, whereas the Blackwolf makes more of a ”pop” with very little sound near the action.
Want and need are absolutely different. I guess buying a BW or whatever else in the around or above 4K department means you get a little bit more than in the 2k department and it’s up to you to decide whether the amount of “more” is worth not doing whatever else you would otherwise do with the 2k difference. The two basic reasons why your answer might be “yes, it is” are either that the “little more” you get is so important to you or because you don’t have to refrain from doing anything else you want anyway cause 2k doesn’t matter to you. Both reasons are fine. Other people spend 5k on a nice dinner for two or 20k on a 1 week vacation. Perfectly fine, no judgment. There is a difference between “I want” and “ I need”. I get where you are coming from " i do " but there is a difference between the two platforms and those differences or upgrades are what people should place the perceived value on, not the idea of sameness as they are not the same. There is a difference between “I want” and “ I need”. I'm really enjoying the BW, everything is easily adjustable. I don't even know what a good trigger feels like until I tried the BW. Definitely worth the price of admission.Reduction of weight
