Daystate 22hp pin activator

I was out at the range and heard the dread pop! New right away I blew a breech seal and I could see it when I opened the bolt. So home I went. Found my replacement breech seals. (Which of course I forgot at home). When I attempted to replace the breech seal I took out the single shot tray and on the bottom was half the pin activator for the magazine indexer.

Question can I order this part from AOA and replace it myself or is it to involved?

If I can order it should I go ahead and see if I can get all the associated parts? Oring, oring retainer, plug and spring?

Thanks for any help or a tutorial would be nice.

Sure you can. Easy peasy!

AOA also has a pin/plug that you can use in place of the pin actuator, if you will be using only the tray, and/or the new style mag. It won't work with the old style mag, but it prevents any more broken pins, and works fine with either the new Daystate mag, or the CARM. Also, a tip, test those two attaching screws, part 18 above. They are 2 mm hex heads, and many of them have a tendency to strip when removing. Use a good quality hex driver, straight shaft, not ball end. If the fit feels sloppy, the screw was likely over tightened in production, and partially stripped. If so, there are several ways to get it out, and a recent thread here discusses it.

My pin broke on a 3-4 month old daystate RW .177 (normal power) after about 14K shot. AOA was very swift in sending me the parts and they sent everying I asked for, but had to ask for them specifically. I requested extra bolts (part 18), extra o-ring, extra plate (17) and pin (15). The replacement is straightforward if you can get the bolts out. Many have reported that the screws/bolts are in there really tight. I had problems with this and used a brand new allen key. Used a mini screw extractor kit to take out the bolt. If you need any further details feel free to PM me.

One good thing that came from the pin breaking is, as many have described, spending time with the single shot tray illustrated a new level of accuracy for the RW. Also, with the tray, finicky pellets were no longer finicky. The magazine is pure fun and very accurate for me, but the single shot tray provides a higher level of accuracy.

Good luck!

All Daystate needed to do was to offset that pop up pin to one side and drill a hole in their single shot tray and relocate the magazine actuator piece. Or even smarter yet link the connect it to the side cocking lever so that it only pops up when the lever is cocked since they did away with the anti double feed by replacing the magazines with the new ones. Still doesn't make sense...

Oh! That blast of air is needed in order to index that DAMN old magazine that's why to prevent double feeding by not indexing the next loaded chamber!!!

Then they would have to borrow the HW100-110 or Veteran anti double feed set ups.
