Daystat reagal xl .25 cal question

I really love the reagal xl in .25 cal. But I've been told that they're not efficient in that caliber. What's your opinion I don't want one unless it's 25 Cal. If that gun isn't good in 25 Cal I will have to shop around for something different. What is your opinion?

I purchased a Regal XL in .177 cal. This rifle was beautiful and accurate beyond my wildest dreams. Shot count was excellent. The rifle is a little loud with the stock moderator, but the .177 is backyard friendly.

Based on the above experience with the excellent Regal in .177, I purchased a Regal XL in .25 cal. Major mistake.

The .25. cal employs the same platform as the .177 and .22 caliber. Unregulated, the shot count is low -- you'll get maybe 4-5 consistent shots, then, because of the small air cylinder, you basically have a shotgun. And the .25 caliber is loud. This rifle in .25 caliber could in fact be a very good hunting rifle. Plinker and target shooting, no way.

The 2 rifles are identical in size. In the photo above, the .25 caliber is the rifle in the foreground.

don't they make the knew hr regal in 25 cal

It does. With a 162 cc reservoir I would not expect much improvement in the .25 caliber based on the amount of air required to propel a 25.4 gr pellet 850 fps.

That .177 cal is as stated, excellent. Harper slingshot valve eliminates the need for a regulator.
