Anybody ever done this? Is this even possible? Been looking for alternatives for night pesting. Getting some rats around the chicken coop.

Day/Night and Springers?

Most nightvision even the less expensive stuff is expensive and subjecting it to the punishment of a springer doesn't sound like a good idea to me personally. There are many inexpensive, some downright cheap, co2 and PCP guns on the market that would treat the nightvision of your choice more kindly.

Don’t need night vision scope. A plane Jane green or red lamp/flashlight/bulb will do. These critters usually don’t get bothered by the light, specially if there’s a tasty treat to be had.

i've taken more coons with my benji trail np2 than all my other guns together. several rabbits too. a red l.e.d. light is mounted on top of the scope. works great.

This. Just started using this method. Got it for cheap on amazon with 2 batteries, a carry case, charger, and 2 mounts (one picatinny and one scope mount)

And with sub 12fpe kit's at that. " Lamping " is the term for rabbit hunting towards the U.K. . Lot's of nice super light unit's to be had fortunately.

Green light is easier for me to see by; however, red light is easier on my night vision (my personal ability to see in the dark).

It is dark when I get off work but not even that late especially now with time change. I have tried getting out and target shooting in the yard, with the pretty decent lighting on the target and myself, I have out there. I have iron sights and I gave up because I can't see the front sight well enough to be consistent.
Sounds like you are all using scopes after dark. I shoot at 10 yards and 18 yards that is all the space I have to stay safe, so I have never bothered getting a scope. This thread has me thinking maybe I should so I can still shoot on days I work. I don't need to worry about scaring off the target with lights.

I use one of these with a green bulb. I turn it on before dark. That way they don’t even notice that something just changed. They are acclimated to it. Set up some P-nuts with a backstop, and you are all set.
