Davv twin cylinder compressor problem

Hey guys, I bought a davv twin cylinder compressor like two years ago and we had a flood about that time. It didn’t get wet or anything, but it was stored in its shipping crate in my garage since then. I pulled it out to use it finally and it ran for about 10 minutes and cut off.
It isn’t tripping a breaker or even it’s onboard reset switch, but it won’t stay running. If I wiggle the power switch, it will try to come on but won’t stay running. I think the switch is probably bad.
I was planning to head to ace hardware tomorrow and try to get a replacement switch for it. Anything special I need to look at or get? I have only done basic electric work before. I do have a multi meter to test it with. Just haven’t taken the time to start on it yet.

I am using chemlube high pressure synthetic oil in it. Just wanted to mention that because someone will probably ask if it has oil in it. A friend of mine suggested that it’s possible that there is corrosion on the contacts or in the switch since it sat for a while in the garage.
Any knowledgeable help/suggestions appreciated.

I don't know what they need to run amp wise.

I'm concerned that it ran for ten minutes then acted up.

I think you know the difference between a motor that's stuck & trying to draw power & a motor that's just not getting a steady flow of it. Hopefully it's just that & your friend is correct.
If it sat in a moist area the copper contacts could be green w/ oxidation. Some 1K grit sandpaper, and a swipe of acetone insures there's nothing to block flow or corrode later.

So I found corrosion on the power wire contacts where it comes in off the plug. I cleaned those and it fired up. It had actually melted the rubber insulation boots a bit on each of them.
I am not an electrician, so just wondering about that connection to the plug. There are two wires coming off of it and heading towards a box with a reset switch on it. My question is, should there be a third wire coming off the plug from the cord? Like should it be grounded or is it grounded in the plug itself? There are three prongs on the back but only two wires, is why I ask.

I swear I felt a little current running earlier when I was fiddling with it before I cleaned the plug. Made me a little concerned.

I am going to go get some new spade connectors tomorrow to replace those, they are obviously shot. I used deoxit on the connectors for now, just trying to see if it would run and I ran it for 5 minutes without a load.
