Darn! Just too far for me to drive.....

Typical. Unintended consequences of importing exotic animals = iguanas overrunning a semi-tropical landscape... yet, the poor witless marshmallows who fear and hate all guns can't bring themselves to support the most humane and effective means of control. Poison brings about agonizing death. Live trapping means having to deal with overwhelming numbers of animals to relocate to... where, exactly? Trapping for meat or hides is also usually far less humane than culling with a rifle (PB or air); even a wounding shot with a rifle is most often followed up by a coup de grace, limiting suffering.

Note how the reporter inserted the "Wild West" trope to raise the hackles of average readers. "Snowflakes" didn't just crop up in the last 20 years; just mash up the terms "snowbird" and "left-wing flake" and there you have it: South Florida Progressive Snowflakes. How many household pets need to be permanently disabled or die in agony due to infected bites? How much money needs to be wasted putting in temporary repairs to foundations, seawalls, and all other kinds of infrastructure? Stoopid stoopid stoopid...

i really got into airgunning just to deal with these pests. i am having some success keeping my yard clear but they are everywhere down here. if anyone would volunteer to come to my house to clean up the poop, fill the tunnels & run around the yard so they don't eat my plants & garden, i will consider not killing them any longer. but that is not going to happen, so i need to order more ammo........... i am glad the FWC finally realized the problem & declared open season on them. they need to do the same with pythons next :)

come on down - it is a target rich environment!

@ironlion269, I don't get the politically-slanted diatribe. This is not a political issue. I live in South Florida, and know how and what my neighbors think about my iguana jihad. Most are for it, and those that aren't understand the need, just have their preferences. That is their right as free Americans, sir. What's YOUR problem with it?

FYI, We are not permitted to poison them, and relocation is illegal. They must be euthanized. The best practice is a head shot, that when skillfully delivered, drops them dead right there. THAT is a humane and ethical kill. Trapped ones are easily dispatched for the price of a pellet. I have shot and killed way more than my share, and you and I are not going to agree on hardly anything politically. This is about air gunning, not your whiny-ass politics. Please GTFO with your MAGA BS.
