Daisey 853 trigger work

I bought a cmp Daisey 853 and have been using it for a local club 10 meter competition. I attempted to do the trigger modification to lighten the trigger pull. Well it took the creep out and when the screw is screwed in as directed it makes the pull noticibly heavier not lighter. Has anyone tried this modification? Just trying to figure out what I did wrong.

Ok went back and redrilled and tapped the set screw at a different angle. That took care of the problem. Brought the trigger pull from 4 pounds down to a pound and a half. It also eliminated most of the creep. If anyone wants a relatively cheap accurate air rifle for local club 10m competition, this one will get the job done if you modify the trigger pull. Just Google it.

I bought a seal kit that also came with a bunch of parts. I haven’t tried it yet, but I downloaded a pdf on the procedure.

The trigger pull on mine is definitely a challenge. Two distinct creeps and then a heavy break.
