dairy shooting, steelhead fishing, pepperoni sticks, Coke, 9mm LW

I took a break from suburban life and went to an Oregon Coast dairy that has allowed me to shoot there for many years. The Artemis PP700SA .22 shooting 18gr at 450fps... lobbing them in 

 

 

coffee
McDonalds breakfast
drive a windy a$ $ road in the dark for 60 miles
shoot at and miss pigeons
score on starling
drive to the Trask River and wet my line for the first time in 2021, I remembered it all from last year, Hooray
drive to the Tillamook smokehouse and bought five pounds of beef jerky, pepperoni sticks and a bottle of Coke
go to the Kilchis river for Winter Steelhead and fish a beautiful hole with one smart local Dude
eat pepperoni sticks and drink Coke
drive to the Wilson River and fish some more
pop the 9MM in the woods on the way back

The WInter Steelhead are low in numbers but will be running strong in a week or so the I have to the end of March to score some fillets I'll be back! Pic of me February 2020 on a two-fer day.

Sounds like an awesome time and nice weather!! Told the wife I'm ready to go fishing again but got a few months to wait to cold and to much ice lol

Yeah baby! Sounds like a great day! The rivers down here are dropping into shape as I type. My favorite river will be fishing any day now. With no rain in the forecast, the rivers should be in great shape for a while too! It’s been a rough start down here in Nor Cal so far this year. Hopefully now it will start to get better!

Yeah Guys, awesome to have the rivers and time.

Been low energy lately... winter etc... but when I put on the waders and boots, threw the hip pack over my shoulder and grabbed the rod I felt like I was 'all jacked up on Mt. Dew' and hit the streams.

My fun is putting over 1000 songs that windows is holding ransom back in my computer for the fourth time over the years. All wav. files this time no more funny stuff is going to go on.

That's for sharing your adventures with us. I can't wait for our springtime fishing to start. Steelhead runs is a few months away for us! We have to drill through ice to fish right now.

Thanks Guys for sharing my day trip. I am doing the unthinkable and "borrowing" The Wife's pink steelhead rod, I love that rod. Took her shopping for steelhead gear with an unlimited budget and she picked the Okuma SST PINK rod (inexpensive) and it's awesome!

I've seen the Michigan steelhead fishing and it looked BRUTAL. Fishing weather here is OK here but getting there is sketchy.
