D430L and "25 Flies"

I already had a D430L but an opportunity to buy another came up and I grabbed it.

The other rifle is mentioned in this thread: New Personal Best D430L

This thread is about her twin sister.

This is how the rifle was shooting when I received it. It shoots better than I do. On this target you will see a string of 8 out of 9 "flies" hit in a row(#11-19#). That is because the rifle WILL hit the fly every time if I do my part. IOW the misses are on me, not the rifle. I have analyzed the targets with my "On Target" software. Everything here was shot at 75 feet (25 yards).

I just drew dimes around the flies for personal reference. On target shows this aggregate, I was adjusting zero while I shot this target so the aggregate would be a little smaller if I had left the zero alone.

I also shot the ten dimes target v2 with this rifle and again, the misses are on me, not the rifle. I got a much better rifle than I pad for (both times). This particular Diana really should still be in production. They hit way above their weight.

After I ran the target I decided to shoot ten on the spotter so that I would have 40 shots in the aggregate. The aggregate is a composite of all the shots on the target. I was actually holding a mil dot low for all the groups and dead on on the spotting bull.

I added a red ring on the aggregate showing the actual size of a MOA at 25 yards and a blue ring showing the actual size of a MIL at the same range. As you can see the spring rifle which will shoot MOA under any circumstances is basically shooting ONE HOLE at 25 yards.

There are a total of 4 groups on the Ten Dimes target which are actually MOA. I believe the rifle is capable of doing that every time but my old eyes aren't.

THE QUEST CONTINUES

Thanks Jake!
