I’ve got a Caiman X in .22 on the way, but was wondering about slugs. Anyone shooting slugs out their CZ barrel & if so what weight & diameter?? I’m pump about this rifle never had a Bullpup before so this is a first for me.
Do yourself a favorite and get a sample pack of NSA slugs . This will at least get you in the ball park . If none of them shoot with reasonable accuracy , move onto another sample pack from a different manufacturer, JSB , H&N , Javelin, AVS to name a few. Also check on eBay , there are quite a few to select from.
Most of the cz barrels don’t shoot slugs that well. Notice I said most of them. They do however love all weights of pellets, including the heavier pellets.
Good luck. They were made to shoot pellets. My Priest 2 will do 1/3 inch groups at 50yd with monster redesigns. The best I can get with slugs is around an inch. That is good compared to most springers, but nothing to call the newspaper about in the pcp world...
Thanks guys this is the kids information I was looking for. I’ll probably stick with pellets. I kinda thought the CZ barrel was an excellent pellet barrel. The few reviews I found on the Caiman shows to be pretty accurate.
My cz cricket love slugs for the power they have now up to 20g .. my taipan long to up to 22g n now my tuned uragan. 22 have a cz n it could shoot rocks if you need to .. .. most of the time is match the slugs to you power output.. my 177 cz guns do great with slugs to .. the .22 likes them in .216..
Uhh yeah CZ barrels shoot slugs well. Plenty of guns with CZ barrels doing so. My Uragan loves slugs. All my PCPs ended up shooting slugs well once you find the right slug. My Marauder and Brocock shot them great too.
