Cutlerist about scopes

Skip, the best that I have found in the reasonable price range is Bushnell Engage. Decent ranging, great glass, 1 MOA reticle and now a great warranty. The only thing that they lack is illumination. I did experience some fogging issues when I set it in the sun for a few hours, but I am not sure what the issue was. Anyway the warranty would take care of the problem, if needed. Held up on about 1000 shots on my springer so far. They run $350 or less on sale. I make a 3d printed comma for them.

I would recommend avoiding the Sightron STac series, even the new one. They just don't have the definition on the parallax knob (<2 deg for 40 to 55 yards). Also avoid the Gen 2 Vector Sentinel - very Blurry.
