cut down barrel shroud on dreamline tac

my state does not allow any type of silencers on a gun. would you think, before I bought the gun, that it would be possible to cut the barrel

shroud off of a barrel, so the internal barrel is flush with the end of the shroud. right now the internal barrel sits inside the shroud

and push comes to shove, it may be considered a moderator 

then use another barrel support on the barrel end, if that is even necessary



my brother in law has one that I want to buy, but I need it to be compliant 

wouldn't buy it if you don't think it would be possible.

any thoughts?

As long as you have 4-5” of empty space in the end of any shroud, if you know what you’re doing, you’ll never need a muffler hanging on the end of your gun. Preferably 5” for a .22-.25 cal.

Sounds like it would be possible to cut it off even with the front of the barrel I'm not familiar with dreamline at all though what state technically air rifle isn't classified as a gun I didn't think but I could be wrong

I would be careful when cutting not to hit the end of the barrel so you don't mess up the crown of it
