I've mounted slings on many rifles as several of you have also. It's always a bit nerve-wracking when you go to drill a hole in a fine stock. Things can go mildly wrong or horribly wrong. I found a unique way to mount at least the rear sling stud from a small company in England called Custom Sling Plates. Its essentially an aluminum spacer you put between the stock and the butt pad that has a sling stud installed in it. It does add a small amount of weight (I forgot to weigh it before I installed mine) and approximately .375 inches (9.5mm) which is the width of the sling stud to the length of pull. The weight and length were not noticeable to me on my Pulsar which is already pretty heavy. If you're interested, the website is www.customslingplates.co.uk.
I am in no way affiliated with this company. I just thought it was a unique way to mount a sling stud without drilling your stock.
Here's mine:
