Is anyone producing liners for FX barrels other than FX? or really any of the components you need to reproduce a barrel kit? I briefly discussed a .357/.401 concept with their US office recently, that would be capable of much high energy than the current .35 Impact. They didn't outright turn down the idea, but it is a large departure from what they normally do. So, they don't see development happening anytime soon, understandably. I was playing around with the idea of getting a.35 Impact, or a Dreamline Tactical and seeing if I can iron out a more solid development idea for producing 400+FPE out of a .401 barrel. Just wondering if I need to look at milling and producing all the components myself. Or maybe someone out there in the community works with some of these components enough to make a few things for me as I need them? No plans in stone right now, just trying to gather information.

I think your development concept puts the whole sport in serious danger. If you need those energy levels please use a PB. They are proven and have all the controls in place. Lethal levels of energy from an air gun will force all the same controls on our sport, which we do not need. We enjoy freedoms which no longer exist with PBs. Please do not endanger them.

400fpe+? Your looking in the wrong place. An Impact won't do that. You want that power rebarrel a AF Texan

Getting an impact or dreamline to do 400 fpe is like expecting a long distance runner to bench press 315. You would have to re-engineer the whole gun starting with a new valve. I say if money is of no concern why the hell not. You would have the most powerful impact in the galaxy. You may or may not get to 400 fpe but there’s nothing wrong with shooting for the moon only to land among the stars.
At one point no one could’ve fathomed the power that could be made from a simple marauder, except for the guys who modded them. Spending hundreds of dollars on barrels, valves, bottle adapters. You never know what’s possible until you go for it.
A more practical, inexpensive, and quicker approach would be to buy one of the big bore power houses available. AF Texan, Umarex Hammer, Hatsan piledriver, Epox Badger. Either of those will get you 400+ fpe.
@steve-I Our “freedoms” seem to be doing ok with all the current high power offerings. 400 fpe is yesterday’s news compared to what these new guns are putting out. Cats out of the bag bud

I think I'd be out just as much money trying to increase air capacity and shot count from a Texan as I would modding an Impact. Honestly, the more I look at valving, air routing, barrels, and magazine size/capacity; I think I'm gonna be better off and money ahead developing my own rifle and magazine. Maybe bring some experience over from hydraulics and PBs, and incorporate into something new.
