N/A Custom gun stocks.

I’m near the end of buying rifles. Have my springs. I’ve been sniffing around for custom stocks for quite some time now. With no luck. A year+ ago when the Pound and Euro fell I tried ordering 3 from Custom Stocks in the UK. Won’t ship over Canadian border, wood restrictions.
They make gorgeous stocks. I‘ve seen so many of yours. Super envious.
Today I e-mailed a few companies here, but they seem powder burners are their mission. 🙏
Does anyone know of gun stock manufacturers in Canada?
Need some jewellery on these babies. Crow

Mad Dog is limited; I see no springer stocks.Sometimes Steve Corcoran will have some made up. You can try Richard Microfit Stocks, you will have to do the finishing yourself, Boyds has Maraurder Stocks.Too bad you can't get the Custom Stocks. Fajan is an old stock maker. I do not know if they are still in business. A guy up in Napa, Calif., used to make custom stocks ....Good luck, I think you may have to get the Microfit stocks and do the final work yourself...

So, you basically cant import a stock from anywhere?
That’s what I’m finding. And what makes it confusing is I can buy a gun, which has a stock on it.
They’re really tight on wood, fruit, vegetables and meat crossing the border without inspection. Always been that way. Crow
Mad dog stocks Doug makes nice stocks and good guy
Thanks, checked out. Can’t ship. Crow

Order a custom stock from whoever. Have them install a cheap used, damaged junk springer action on it and ship it to you as a complete rifle. A cheap, junk used springer with a custom stock?? Do you think the pinheads in customs will figure that out?
Additionally, if you have a good friend you can trust in the states, they could put this together for you. Get the stock, find a suitable action to drop in it, then send it to you. Or you could send your action to the states and have it sent back? Might not be reasonable or feasible, but could be an option?

There has to be some gun stock blank suppliers in Canada. Start there. They know the good guys that build custom stocks. Where do you think they get wood? You pay them enough and you can get a custom air rifle stock. You're are an upscale guy? Treat yourself. You deserve it. You pick the blank. The stock builder will help you choose a style and make it fit you to a T.
Custom Stocks UK makes everything look like a Theoben, have you noticed? Because they built Theoben stocks. No checker pattern options. And what if it doesn't fit you the way you wanted? I have found that Theoben thumbhole stocks don't fit my xx large ape hands. Too slim. And I think they're too blocky. The curve of Corcoran's pistol grip doesn't fit me either.
Use your beech stock to build a pattern and he'll duplicate it.
Get a nice Circassian, or Hymalayan, or Bastogne, or Midwest, or English, or Claro, or maybe Canada has some good walnut for stock making. What ever you want.
Open your wallet and have something exceptional built. Then show it off to us. Don't tell us what you paid. And I don't think you would. 👍
Will look cool when you take a picture of it on your rest with your Mercedes and Kubota in the back ground. Or leaning against your beautiful custom built house by the lake. ;)

Thanks. I’ve already e-mail two companies. Anything both had in their gallery was all powder burners. We’ll see. Crow
I’ve been down the same road. Same country. I wanted to put my R9 in anything but the factory stock. I gave up, the R9 still lives in its factory beech. Although the beech is actually quite nice for what it is.
I wish you luck. If you do find somewhere , please let us know.
I hear you. I’ve been sniffing around for years with no luck.
If something happens I’ll let you know. Crow

what if you ship a gun with no stock ( or a synthetic stock ) to UK and they mount it ( ? 2 or 3 screws ) in a stock and ship back to you ?
Although you might still loose the gun at customs ?

I’ll never forget 1978. Took my family camping across upper NY where we entered the US and into Vermont. After 2 weeks we entered back into Canada through Vermont - Quebec border.
The Border guard said good morning, I said good morning. He said can I see you camera, which I registered when I entered the US in NY. Blew me away. He checked out all I registered making sure the same.
I’ve travelled all over. Dislike coming through my own borders the most. Really tight.
They get real pissy get caught trying to bring any of restricted items. Just not worth it. Crow

Hey Crow, ever thought about carving your own stock?

It's not difficult... satisfying and a lot of fun actually. Most of the work can be done with a table saw and a couple of hand tools.

You don't need exotic or expensive woods to make a nice stock. Recently I've made a couple out of birch plywood that look pretty good.

Been making stocks for decades, wrote a "how to" guest blog for Pyramyd Air a while back.

Here is a link to "Part 6" that has links to the other 5 parts.

Cheers!

Thanks for the suggestion. Vana it’s ironic. I have a nice, well once nice wood shop. I’ve made several. My tools were my babies. The president of Black & Decker, Porter Cable, Delta and Dewalt used to be a costumer of mine. I became his poster child.
Once I started air gunning 7 yrs ago, I dropped wood working, bit of a crime. I have Walnut boards 60 yrs old and I think I could make one. Just don’t feel it. Things could change. Crow

I understand changing interests, I'm easily distracted and attracted to different activities.

But I often revisit old interests. Maybe making a stock or two is just what you need to pick up wood working again 🙂

Cheers!
