Custom cocking lever for the Impact

I’ve seen the cool cocking levers that Ernest makes but unfortunately, they’re usually out of stock and after thinking about it, I wanted a longer version anyway. So...The other day I looked for some aluminum that I could use. I found an old air soft gun, chopped off the barrel and I got extremely lucky. The exterior aluminum tube was lined with a thicker aluminum tube that slid right over the standard cocking lever. Made some cuts, beveled the top and bottom, viola, it was done. I liked that it was a bit oversized but I messed up and made it too short.

Although the first version would have been fine and I liked the looks, I still wanted it longer and at the advise of Augie, considered making it with a little added length on top. I got some carbon fiber tube, cut it up and made three versions to test. The carbon is so easy and fast to cut up, smooth out and bevel the edges compared to aluminum. It took about five minutes to make each of the carbon versions and the tubing was like $15 for two feet through Amazon. These are what I came up with, they’re rock solid, add the length I wanted and look cool. Some of you may have seen the pictures I posted on instagram but most probably have not. Here you go.
