I wanted to build something different that suited me …I love the semi bullpup concept and wanted to move the cocking arm further forward…I had the Breech engraved and ordered a LW choked .22 barrel in 15 diameter, this was cut to 22.78 inches…I reduced the Valve needle diameter, custom hammer spring and added washer and tophat to the hammer spring, as well as a hammer spring adjustment knob/ dial…Huub at Huma Air was kind enough to assist in designing a power plenum and he sent me the 12 cc version and a 16cc version to test for him, after testing this combination for Huub I reserved the power regulator and 16cc plenum for this gun…I now have 26cc of plenum…
The hard part of building my custom P15 was buying a block of laminate wood and deciding to build a custom stock, I have never built anything out of wood previously and this was my first gunstock…
Lofty Dreams – first sketch
Measuring reality sets in…
Laid over Block of Laminate Wood
Start of Cutting
Compared to original P15 Stock
First, I cut out the template and laboriously went about shaping the stock and cutting the inletting with a router, wow was this painstaking work and probably not something I would do again in a hurry
The gun was designed to shoot JSB 25 grain in the 860 -875-fps range and Nielsson 23 grain slugs at 880 - 900fps, for me it’s a long range 50 – 100-yard gun…
I am exceptionally happy with the way it turned out…
It has a custom 16 round magazine from Darko Dell, a Bisley adjustable gunstock, adjustable cheek riser, custom carbon fiber shroud with Huggett moderator and it has a Tac Vector Taurus 6-24 FFP scope…
It is now its time to start testing and adjusting bit by bit…
