Are new Sorties working properly? I respect Odolye who hates the pistol, but might be willing to take a chance if members have positive experiences with current Sorties. Thanks for the replies.
I have both a 0.22 and a 0.25 Sortie. When I first purchased them they would fire but the bolt did not retract completely so the magazine could not turn for the next pellet.. Since they operate only by blowback I made adjustments to reduce the force required to cock and reload the gun. Now they operate very well.
There was a post on AN where someone installed a supressor but if I remember he did a lot of modifications. Have you run a search on AN about the Sortie?
If I use the correct settings and pellets I have no problem with the magazine jamming or the gun firing in semiauto mode.. If the bolt does not retract completely it will not allow the magazine to rotate but this is not jamming. If I want to test a magazine I load it with pellets and then use a rod of the same diameter as the bolt and manually push the pellet through and see if the magazine rotates when you withdraw the rod. Continue to do this and empty the magazine. If the magazine does not rotate and feed the next pellet when you withdraw the rod completely then something is wrong with the magazine.
I plan to start selling my collection since I am now 88 years old. I have a walnut stocked Sortie I would sell if you are interested. Please contact me at [email protected]
I was informed directly by DonnyFL that Hatsan semiautos rely on backpressure and thus fitment of an aftermarket silencer may affect the autoloading function. Take it for what it is worth, but it made me not buy one (nor the adapter that I was about to pre-order for it, which is when I received the Donny advice).
