Not quite happy, no pun intended with the Crown's moderator design after experimenting with different extended lengths. I felt that there might be some POI issues going on with the back and forth adjustability's. I finally decided to set it extended about 21/2-3", which produced a nice backyard friendly report. I also tried a Donnyfl Tatsu but really didn't like the looks of that combination, although nice and quite so I opted for the shorted extended length of the factory moderator. During this same time frame I had also put a Donnyfl Shogun on my FX 500 Royale which is really QUITE by the way. So this left me with the Royale's shroud not in use so I started wondering if by chance the barrel OD on both guns might possibly be the same for a little experiment.... Shazaam! they are the same so off came the Crowns shroud and on went the Royale's. I adjusted the shroud to my liking which produced a nice shot report. Not as quite as the Crown's fully extended but way quieter than the shroud collapsed. I like the looks of it better and feel that it all being solid with no wiggle it might actually be more accurate. Some preliminary shooting showed that it for sure is just as accurate but with the pesky winds no conclusion just yet. Just thought I'd share another option if your not quite satisfied with the OEM design.
