Crown MKII

Is there any forum user who has had the opportunity to see and try the new Crown MKII? It is much more powerful than the crown I own, all to the advantage of power and, perhaps, precision. Now the slugs may already be used "out of box". It seems to have a larger internal plenum (about 20% more regulated air) and a 6.5mm valve ... all of which translates into more power, ranging from 20 to, almost, 30 J more, per second of the caliber. mmhttps: //fxairguns.com/rifles/the-crown/

I think this would technically be a Gen 4 Crown. I have a Gen 3, and had a hen 2. The gen two I tuned to run 50fpe in. 22 on a 500mm barrel... which is what this gun is rated for in that caliber. The 2nd gen had plenty more in it, but 50fpe was a very efficient power level for the 500mm barrel.

My hen 3 I tuned to 65 fpe in 22 caliber, and it still has more in it. Now, more plenum will yield more efficiency, so a little better shot count. Not enough for me to care.

However, the larger valve and plenum will make this a much better platform for 25 and 30 caliber. So, I'll likely grab one in .30, as I have an extra stock laying about

A couple of weeks ago I had gotten a new RAW for my birthday, opened it up, and was so ticked off that they'd changed/cheapened the gun (IMO), I boxed it up and sent it back the next day. The RAW had been my choice over the FX Crown and Daystate Wolverine HP. I've been shopping since then, and yesterday saw the new Crown MK II in stock at Utah Airguns. They even had the Forest Green stock in a .30, which is exactly what I wanted. I'm anxiously awaiting the gun now, and from everything I can find, it should be about perfect for my use with the improved power numbers. I'll let you know what it does when I get it!

I would like to know that too!! I've read various things about the previous versions of the fx crown (mk1). Some people love them, while other people hate much on them. The crown continuum seems to have mostly positive feedback (if not completely positive from what i have read so far on it).

Also how robust/durable is the new crown mk2 ? Durability seemed to bug some people that got to play with the gen1 crown mk1.

I have both a Mk1 Crown and a MK1 Crown Continuum. I really don’t understand the comment about durability. From what i have seen, they are both robust and durable. The only knock I have seen is not he 700mm barrel on the Continuum being easy to knock off zero if one isn’t careful. I put a barrel band (from Ohio Airguns) on mine and it has been perfect (and robust/stable).

The Continuum block definitely has a more secure barrel mounting system (using the 4 angled screws - 2 per side) than the original (two screws at the top/). But again, once one adds the barrel band even that minor difference is moot.

Interesting! just read about the MK11, my good friend has what we thought was Gen.11? new 45 deg. barrel set screws and Pic. rail light weight 600mm barrel, he just bought it less than 2mo ago, (he's trying to sell it now) so if they didn't externally enlarge plenum? then did they machine the extra volume out of receiver? I do like the GRS stock, well everybody sell their Impact MK11 I bet there's going to be a MK111 or MK4+ real soon!. Someone once said FX's are the "CRACK COCAINE" of airguns I tend to believe them...
