Crown MKII vs Impact MKII

Are you a traditional rifle guy or bullpup guy? They both have their place and like everyone says, get both!

I came really close to getting a crown VP and then swap to 380 barrel but then I love the new GRS stock except the 9.5lb weight unscoped!!!😱 I can't decide still and then dreamline in GRS just showed up........this is horrible for my wallet, or what little is left of it.

Here's another question for you guys......what are the torque specs for the stock screws? I know in the rimfire and centerfire world how the stock bolts on a rifle are torqued can made a difference in accuracy. I used a torque tuning tutorial on one of my Savage centerfire rifles to shrink the long range groups. Cooper rifles have a specific spec etc.

Well dang you all! After being on the fence seemingly forever, I found a brand new .22 cal/700mm Impact X in stock at Baker, and grabbed it.

Now maybe in the future I will be able to speak in a more knowledgeable manner regarding questions like "Crown vs Impact". And I will no longer have to feel that I am missing out on that 'Impact experience.'

Hope FX doesn't release a Mk3 too soon, and immediately gut the value of my new gun!😉

The funny thing is that I am not a real tinkerer. With my new Impact I don't plan on routinely changing calibers and barrels, etc. I will likely find a tune which suits my favorite pellet, and another one for hybrid slugs, and then just leave the adjustments alone.

P.S.: Please don't tell Odoyle that I bought one or my phone will immediately blow up and he'll be razzing me to no end!😆

So many people here really like the adjustability of the Impact. It does have an advantage, but once you find a good tune the need for all those knobs goes away. My guns shoot best with one or two different pellets with the same adjustments, so I'm not going to play Joe Rhea and do his nipple twisting with all the knobs on the gun.
