Crown Continuum 700mm

I really like the looks of the new yellow jacket continuum .. but after talking to a fellow Air-gunner. He brought it to my attention ,even with a slug liner . they do not have as much power as I would expect to push slugs, without additional work. I am used to my impact which works like a dream when I push slugs almost all types and sizes in 25 Cal .Also it appears that with a 700mm barrel option, The gun suffers from barrel droop .?

Any of you guys out there can enlighten me on the subject I would truly appreciate it. After all I am new to the subject of slugs and semi new to air gunning

No doubt that would be bad ass !!

I bought the daystate wolverine regulated hp model thinking It was going to push slugs at 70+ foot pounds when intern it is really only a 50 pound gun in 25 caliber which shouldn’t have the name high power at all *

Although the gun is beautiful and I do not regret the purchase because the price was right * I just want to sling slugs -LOL from a conventional air rifle . And put the smack down by pushing them over 960 ft./s

You will notice if you look carefully in the last AEAC/RMAC video that Ernest is talking about being able to get very high power levels akin to the Impact with mods from a modified Crown he is working on.

I suspect something may happen in the future?

Barrel droop? the fixing system on the Continuum is designed to reduce exactly this, what do you define as "droop" exactly and who suggests it?

I guess what I meant to say is “barrel sag”*

From being so long, also I do like to buy aftermarket suppressors which does add a slight weight increase .and I’m sorry I do not recall the name of the gentleman of which brought this to my attention . My impact has extra support that the crown does not .

But thank you for your thoughts on the subject I’m always open to new information Or insight *

Yes of course a heavier mod can make a huge difference, I found a couple of inches difference drop in the POI even at 25 yards and thats with a 600mm.

FX used to reccommend against a 700mm barrel on the standard Crown, so I don't think there is too much to worry about with the new fixing system.

If someone had a Continuum and clamped it very securely, they could probably measure the effect of adding a weight (i.e. moderator) to the front end.

My continuum 700mm has been tuned by me to produce 65+ FPE in 22 caliber 🤷 I'd say that's plenty to push slugs. The 700mm barrel has little or no droop. 380mm barrel with no thread protector weighs 9.5 Oz vast majority of that being centered in the reciever. 700mm is 14.6 Oz. Not a huge difference. But you don't want to put a heavy moderator on it. I use one that weighs about 4.5 Oz

Tuned in what way? Just the adjustments already there or did you have to modify things?

Ported barrel inlet, ported probe. Ported VS to 5.8mm, 7gm hammer weight
