Crow Hunting is getting close to open

Can't wait! Crow hunting starts here July 1st. Have a hunt scheduled for Friday and Saturday. We have all the semi autos, calls, decoys, and people ready. I look forward to this time of year every year. It is so much fun. I will keep you guys posted.

Do you eat them or just defend the corn field? I'm not judging btw just curious. I happen to know crows are one of the most destructive and hard to deal with pest on the planet due to how clever they are and how hungry!

I grew up near Ft Cobb Lake in Oklahoma. At the time, there was a roost of over 1 million crows there. We had a blast shooting them as they came off the roost in the mornings. Good times for sure!

Glad to know Tennessee isn't the only state with a restrictive crow season. We have 2 actually - during the early season we can only hunt them Friday - Sunday. During the late season any day is ok. Where I grew up in Alabama they were fair game all the time.

Mass shuts down crow season in the spring, but I don't know for how long, at least the month of April. Crow hunting is also only Friday, Saturday, and Monday.

In Mass Crow is closed from April 10th to July1st. Open all the rest of the year but like DShepard said ,only on Friday, Saturday, and Mondays.

Ours is Nov thru Feb, but you can't take them with an airgun. Shotgun only.

I wish we could take them with airguns here in Cal, it's shotguns only. There always seems to be at least one in my yard

A friend told me that years ago and I didn't believe it then so I looked it up. Yep - that's a fact just like Hoople said.

Tennessee has gotten a lot better about airgun hunting over the last couple of years. Crows are legitimate airgun targets. The only thing I wish they'd open up a little more is allowing airguns that shoot arrows during regular archery season. I don't know that I'd do it but I'm betting my crossbow is more powerful and just as accurate (I haven't really tested - just a guess). But they do allow arrow slinging airguns during the regular rifle season which is pretty long and with liberal limits.

Ohio has a closed season on crows from the first week of March until the first week of June. When the season is open, you can shoot them on Fri. Sat. and Sun. only, and Airguns are permissable.

In Missouri crow season does not open till November 1st. You can hunt them any day of the week. I've never hunted them with an air rifle. Squirrel season has already opened here in May.

When I was maybe 9 or 10 and aggressively "defending" my backyard with the old Pumpmaster 760, my father, who noticed my indiscriminate killing, once made me dress, cook, and eat a crow. 

Crows are NOT for eating. The putrid taste (and tough, black, rubbery meat) is forever burned into my memory, along with my dad's lesson not to indiscriminately kill.
