Crossman 500 Powermatic issues

Hi : new here and hoping I can get some info. I just received a used Crossman semi auto Powermatic Model 500 BB gun. Great shape but the gas system wont hold pressure. I got the recommended seal kit but looking at the very poor parts diagram I'm not convinced all the parts required are there. Can anyone help with a better diagram or advice/instructions on how to install the gas system internal parts?

Thanks in advance

Take care

Thanks - that's a much better copy than the one I found. Pity the names of the parts are not listed. Here's a photo of the assembly order I have been using. I would swear that the major leak is from the (wrong terminology here no doubt) area around the plunger - it's not sealing at the gas assembly where the plunger pin comes out. Perhaps I should look for a strong spring ? By the way I assume the cap should be screwed in tight?
I have a new version plunger but it's nowhere near the same design and is actually worse than the old one. In any case , I appreciated your reply and any advice or thoughts would be much appreciated.

I have the 500 also, got it for Christmas when I was 12 or so. There must be a few thousand bb’s in the pond in front of the house. It sat for a long time as life went in many directions but when I got it back out it did the same thing, just leaked down and didn’t seal at all. I found a local repair place and he brought it back to life. I think there is a rebuild kit available. It’s funny, I once built a small block 350 in my kitchen because that’s what kitchens are for, I can fix a lot of problems in the average private aircraft but I can’t do gunsmith work at all. You’ll enjoy this when you get done. Wally World has good pricing on 12mg CO2 cartridges. Treefrog I went to that website you linked and clearly I’ll be going back. Looking at all the corrosion makes me wonder if Crosman had any idea then that many of the guns in this price range would still be around this many years later. I wonder when the 500 went out of production?
