Crosman wildcat Co2 pistol

I bought a pink wildcat for my lady today
I know. I know. I'm shaking my own head at that one. Lol

question is. Does it get better with time?
first 20 shots wouldn't hit a can at 40ft or so.
Do pistols need a break in period like rifles?
Bought this as a training tool for her to shoot my Kimber ultra covert 2 in .45cal.
Also will be used to shoot stray snakes and maybe some gophers if I can get it to shoot straight
I got zinc bbs and not the copperheads I am used to from my younger years with BB guns

If anyone has experience with a wildcat that they bought for their wife and may have some advice, I would greatly appreciate it.
Would a laser help? Or just hope it hits something when the trigger is pulled.
Also. Does keeping the CO2 cartridges inside make a difference in shot count. Would warming them up first help with anything like a Nitrous bottle for a car? Does temperature affect CO2?
