Crosman Vantage NP not holding bear trap?

Rifle has been fine for almost two years, but is now not holding the bear trap mechanism. What is the fix. It's become dangerous.

Send it back to Crosman and let them fix it.

I should have said it doesn't hold at the bottom of the loading stroke, and when it does it sometimes releases on it's own?. I'd rather fix it myself if possible. The rifle isn't worth the postage to fix.

Have you checked youtube for videos on it? That's where I'd look.

i would take the stock off and than go to the Crosman and look at the parts diagram
i visual inspection should show you the problem
the rifle is a 30021

There's this. Worth a look. The Crosman Quest I have had a REALLY bad trigger. I improved it some. It's probably the same as the NP.

First, I'd like to thank everyone who responded. Second, it's my fault, I didn't check the screws in a while and everything from trigger to stock bolts were loose. I had used blue loctite and felt secure, not so. I am trying to order a GRT III through Cathy although I don't know if she still sells them. If not will use the red loctite on all screws or go back to the blue and be more diligent in checking the rifle. Just took a few shots with no problems.

it is interesting to me that the first thing that should be done before posting on a forum is take the stock off and take a look

but i see it all the time but it great to see that the problem is taken care of
