Crosman model 600

The Crosman 600 is in a class all it's own; to my knowledge the only .22 caliber, true semi-automatic Co2 pellet pistol. The faux semi-auto revolvers don't count... or come close to the Crosman 600 in power, or powerful personality.

Thank you all. What AirNGasman said is what the old fellow who sold it to me said, so I wanted an independent opinion.

At first, I was afraid that it was unreliable or defective. It would fire only three or four consecutive shots and then jam with any of the three types and brands of 14.3 gr. pellets I tried (including Crosman). Then I tried Benjamin 14.3 gr. hunting pellets and the 600 worked as advertised. Haven't tried serious accuracy testing yet but its power seems pretty good: from 15' it penetrated an empty soda can and 130 pages of phone book backing.

You should find lots of support and aftermarket parts for the 600, unless times have changed more then I though... back when I got into airguns it was one the the absolute must have for my breed of airgunner, the tinkerer. You certainly were not swindled. The Crosman mark 1, Crosman 600 and 22xx are great platforms with a rich history within airgunning. Especially the 600 and mk1. Being a semi auto the 600 is even more special.

There comes a point that it gets tossed out because even Tim at Mac1 told me they can and will eventually wear out to a point they can no longer be rebuilt. Depends on how many rounds fired the clock starts to tick down. Just like FX semiautos same thing toss them when done. Even Allen Z can't fix them after too many rounds shot through and you have to cycle the bolt manually if it actually still shoots. Hatsan semiautos are even worse.

Benjamin made the 422 semi automatic. I never saw one. Don't want one. Crosman 600 cured that for me. LOL!

Mine (600) shoots Crosman Premier HP 14.3 all day. Never jams. Just gasses after about 30 shots. Gas Hog. I think I have about 6 of them. IDK. I got my first one at a flea market before you could read about them online. There was no online! It would go full auto for some reason I don't remember anymore. Pretty fun soda can roller if you can resist the temptation to shoot too rapidly. I can't.

I bought a totally Mac1'ed out one last year for cheap. Seller said he couldn't get it sorted. I haven't played with it. Maybe one day when I have nothing better to do?😏

The way out yonder barrel and brake on it don't really turn me on. Could be wrong but I think the Hot Valve will make it guzzle faster. Looks like AirNGasman's above. His looks ok I guess.

I don't think I'm the right guy for it. BTW I always favor the Crosman 150's.

I have a Crosman 600 and love it.It will shoot almost any type of pellets through it without jamming or malfunctioning. But it likes the RWS wadcutters the best. If you check around there are actually a lot of airgunSmiths that work on them. The one gunsmith that I talk to says that he buys beat up ones that are unrepairable and uses them for parts. Plus he makes some of the parts Hiself .If they were well taken care of and maintained, One should last you many years.Mine is surprisingly accurate also.

I bought one of these new when they were in production. It began to leak after the third CO2 capsule. I had it resealed and it worked for about three months until it began to leak again. I pitched it. When It worked it was a lot of fun. I think if well rebuilt with modern seals it would be an enjoyable carry pistol for an afternoon of woods walking.
