Crosman Essential

I tried out the new Crosman pellets in .22, 13.7 grain. I tried them in my S510, normally shoots AA 16 grain as its favorite. The AA goes over the chrono at average of 701 FPS (I have the power cut back on the adjuster) with a sd of 1. The Crosman went average of 734 FPS with a sd of 10.
My target is 17 yds, it’s the handy one for me, the poi was the same for each pellet, but the AA will stack 5 in a ragged hole, where the Crosman went about a half inch if I worked at it.
Considering the Crosman are effectively $24.97 and tax for 500, compared to the CPHP .22 14.3 grain hanging next to them, 500 for $10.99, these don’t seem to be worth the cost. At least the Norma heavy, at the same price as the Essential, shot better. I have tried pellets in the S510 that shot worse than these, but they weren’t a nickel a shot…
