Crosman Bulk Fill Guns Not All Brass

I thought all the Crosman 1xx bulk fill guns had brass barrels and CO2 tubes. Imagine my surprise this morning while cleaning up my recently purchased Crosman 116 with denatured alcohol and all the paint on the barrel, receiver and tube started wrinkling up and pealing off. Turns out that the barrel and tube on this 116 are steel and not brass. The receiver is brass. Had to strip off all the paint then on the barrel, receiver and tube. This 116 does not have a serial number. Neither does my 112, so I checked it with a magnet. The 112 without serial number has a brass receiver and barrel, but the CO2 tube is steel.

The 116 I already had, my 115 and my 114 all have serial numbers and have brass receiver, barrel and CO2 tube.

When did Crosman change the bulk 1xx guns to all brass barrels and CO2 tubes? When did Crosman start putting serial numbers on the 1xx series guns?

The newest 116 with the bare metal actually looks pretty good. I can leave it that way, paint the whole thing or blue the steel barrel and tube and leave the brass receiver alone. Such decisions!
