Is there a difference between the brown box Premier dome pellets and the Ultra Magnum dome pellets in a tin? Pellet cost seems to be more expensive in the box.
The ones in the box are supposed to be from a single die, thus more consistent, and that's why they are more expensive. At least they were at one time. I've bought them 3 different times over the last 7 years and each time they've had variable sizes and molding defects.
The boxed Premiers supposedly come from the same die so accuracy SHOULD be more consistent while the cheaper tins come from multiple dies and likely some may even be swept off of the floor into your tin.
The Brown Boxed Crosman Premiers were the most accurate pellets during the 90s for field target probably 99% of the top and even so-so shooters used them.
I'm with these guys the boxed Premiers used to be great and that was all I shot. But the last couple boxes I got, actually a few years back, were just not the same as back in the day.
Found a few boxes of the .20 with the price and dates. Also found some
.177 too. I remember winning a three gun shoot in 1993. That sure seems like a long time ago! Scoped .20 Beeman R10, non scoped.177 Diana 48 and a scoped .177 Daisy 777. I remember the day very well. It was pouring rain and I was worried the 777 wouldn’t cut through the rain drops. I still have the 777 and R10. Traded the .177 48 even up for a new .22 54. Ended up trading the 54 to a friend. It was a heavy rifle even without a scope. But it was smooth.
