Tuning Crosman Benjamin Discovery BP9M22 .22 Air Rifle

Hello All,

Seem to have a leak. Crosman Benjamin Discovery BP9M22 .22 A Looking for some direction on a diagram for the o ring rebuild. I feel I can handle the job. If you have any info on O rings where to get, and a how to tear down the rifle. Would be helpful. Thanks for any help. Kip

Best to buy a kit that includes an exhaust valve and a new gauge. Try Precision Pellet in Pa. Buy several extra orings too. It is very easy to nick one or two, when putting it back together.

If you haven’t done so already mix up some bubble water with some dish soap and check and see where your leak is coming from. Very often, new Crosman/Benjamin rifles will leak from the gauge port and simply tightening the gauge a half turn or so will stop the leak. If your leak is not coming from the fill port or the gauge then you’ll be wanting to re-seal the valve.

Still having some problems. Seems like it's in the valve area. Leaking. My valve stem is very old looking and metal. Not sure how the back half where the tiny O ring for stem is accessible?

not to mention how to get the old one out. Do they make a new or better stem? Looking at the above diagram and can't figure it out? Thanks for more help. Kip

18 E and 18 C above pic. 18 H is all metal no plastic top hat.

The above diagram appears to be for the 1st run of Discovery's. The valve stem sealing oring and retaining part was eliminated after the 1st year(batch?).

If yous does have these parts Crosman may be your best bet?

My Maximus had a leak at the threads on the fill port and it didn’t show up with soapy water. I used some Prolix pump spray - to remove soapy water and that showed the bubbles and leak. I put the yellow gas type Teflon and it stopped leaking.
