Has the Crosman 2240 been discontinued? No one has them in stock and the prices for them on Ebay are going up by the minute.

The latest XL I purchased was absolute garbage. The previous 2 I've had are wonderful for the price. Intereetingly its also my first 2240 clearly branded made in china so maybe they have finally moved even final assembly offshore.
I'm not sure if this is an input or output of the current backlog, but something (beyond the recent sale of crosman and move of us "production") is going on with crosman.

don't see them on Crosman's site
now opinion
when Gamo took over Daisy some of the best-known guns the 7-7 pistols and the 853 just disappeared and also the parts
now Gamo has told Crosman they can no longer seal internal seal to customers
so, i would not be surprised if what happens at Crosman will not be surprising
now the XL was a product when it first came out as i real head scratcher
a 2240 with a breech and threaded barrel and no way to shoot it till you mounted some sort of sight
now we see that with rifles but with pistols i do not remember one
could you make your own XL sure easy enough and the elephant in the room is how will this offshore production come and bite us and Crosman in the A$$
