N/A Crosman 140,Fourth Variant?

First, Im, new here,great forum. Ive have always lurked.
I ran across a Crosman 140,no spoon and has cast trigger,so from what i find, maybe a fourth variant.
It isnt pretty but it doesnt look bad,it will not hold air.
I have never worked on firearms, but I have rebuilt small engines and other mechanical things. Just curious if I should undertake this or find an air rifle gunsmith. I also want to reblue it, and even tho stock looks rough, I may just put a new finish on it,no heavy sanding.
Is it possible to get a peep site on it , also??
Ive done a few searches and found good info on this site and even a You Tube showing someone repairing a 140.
I would really like talk with someone on this if possible.

I have a Crosman 140 and really like it. I've never had it apart so I can't give you any advice on how to fix it but it is well worth the effort to get that rifle going again.
Contact crosman600repair.com. Henry Ford who runs it can repair it for you or you can buy the seal kit from him and do it yourself.

I am a klutz on fine mechanics and failed with my first reseal job, so I use a vendor. Mike Baker has been honest, talented, and reasonable on Crossman and Sheridan guns he resealed for me. He has resealed several of my Crossman guns plus a Sheridan that was not worth fixing, that he replaced with a resealed one in excellent shape for just the cost of what he had spent to date on the repair. The 2 times I have bought parts from him were cheaper than Ebay.

Just finished going through my 2nd variant, I watched the YouTube video several times. Still have a sore thumb where I stabbed it with a small jewelers screwdriver working that old square seal out. That by far was the hardest part of the rebuild. Kept all the parts in order as they came out too. Got the parts from Henry Ford. I snapped the lever link rivet 140-22 and gave up on the search. Used a small flat head screw with a nut that took the place of the lever link bushing. Needed to notch the channel slightly on the bottom of the tube.
