Crosman 1377 springs

I'm replacing the seals and Orings on my 1999 model.

Please tell be about the springs.

While I'm waiting for parts, I put a weaker spring in the trigger assembly for an easier pull, but I'm unsure which way to go with the valve and hammer springs. I don't know if making them lighter or stronger will be of any benefit.

Which way should I go or leave well enough alone?

Thanks in advance.

Doesn't matter a whole lot so long as you're getting all of the air out of the valve in one shot. If there's air left over, either make the valve spring weaker, or the hammer stronger, or do both. I run a weak valve spring, but the hammer has to be cocked before I start pumping because the hammer at rest actually holds the valve open. Something to keep in mind.

Thanks. I like a brief and concise explanation.
