N/A Crooked Barn Pistol

Had this CB co2 pistol out today in the backyard.

I would post pistol / rifles like this on GTA with zero response. All the members would only comment on their pinty rifles and daisy model 25s. 😆

CB with RB grips blast from the past...if u were here back in 2005ish.

When airgunning was fun...sorry.

I got to know Ron Sauls and Jim Giles pretty well while interacting and doing business with them in the years we were displaying at the annual Arkansas airgun shows. We were all into vintage Crosmans, and Ron would occasionally bring in some very interesting Filipino Co2 guns.

My testing of the .22 Tom Cat pictured above proved it quite an impressive Co2 pistol in both power and accuracy. Despite the rudimentary nature of the iron sights, that looong sight radius hinted at the accuracy potential of the platform-

15.9 grain JSB Exact, 90 F, after overhaul, 10 shots- Low= 545, High= 563, ES= 18, SD= 4, Average= 554 FPS/10.8 FPE.
4/7/06- Five consecutive 5 shot groups at 25 yards with Exacts averaged 1” center-to-center with iron sights.

.

Not related to the (pardon me) but all the great rigs brought back found memories of when "all airguns leak eventually" - like in 10 to 30 years- parts were everywhere and Everyone who shot airguns was great period. Like rember when everyone gave a 3 day inspection on used airguns and no one abused it. Grn cash in an envelope off to the UK got you an excellent hand crafted springer ... .
Purchased a Crosman SSP250 from Roz Sumpter at the friends & family price, seen in the 1st pic below. He has replaced the plastic bushing the goes into but never rebuilt and around 2004 the piercing pin failed.
Another great airgunner Steve Vines (who shot at the GOB also) came over, took a look and said I'll take it home and see if Crosman has parts. Called a week later and said he had an old breech - a round DAQ breech with a left side bolt the might suit me better- brought it back next weekend for local Squirrel looking like the second picture. Never mention the muzzle brake he thought looked better than missing sights -yup-.
Love the older airguns.

the SSP-250 is a pistol that gets very little written about it
the top one has a Diana model 75 style foregrip and the wood is very nice
the breech on the 250 had a purpose change the loading insert and barrel and you have a different pistol
i have one with wood in .20 one in a box that needs finishing and another somewhere that has wood from RB to be installed and as many parts that i could find
you see very few custom ones but many 2240 parts just bolt on even a 1720 trigger group should work
and one last thing they are heavy
and yes that is a metal loading gate where it came from i have no idea
