I have two CT scopes, one 2 series and one 3 series. The 2 series is 1-4x24 and I’ve not even mounted it up yet. The 3 series is 5-25x56 and is on my Daystate Pulsar HP. I really like this scope and feel like it’s worth much more than I paid for it ($499). Midway is sold out of them but they do have another 3 series with a reticle I don’t like as much and also the 5 series for about what your looking to spend. I haven’t owned a Midas Tac but have looked through and used one that a shooting buddy owns. I honestly wasn’t impressed with it. The glass was about what you would expect coming out of China. It wasn’t terrible but I wouldn’t call it good either. The turrets was the big let down for me. Everyone raves about them and I thought they were a little mushy and didn’t have a positive feel to them. It could have just been his scope, I haven’t used another one to compare. He also has a Cronus and I was absolutely impressed with that scope and feel it’s a good value for what you are getting. I have a Zeiss Conquest that I was comparing it to and it would be a toss up. The Zeiss had a little better glass to me, but not much. The Cronus had better turrets and just felt more robust. I definitely would give the edge to the Midas Tac on warranty. The series of CT scopes on sale are being discontinued and I have no idea how the quality will be on the replacement product if the scope couldn’t be repaired in a warranty situation.
