Cricket power adjuster...

Do you mean the hammer spring tentioner?

It depends. If the regulator and valve spring is perfectly adjusted and working in harmony the HST does not do much at all until you unscrew it enough so it can no longer open the valve properly. Then you loose power but I find it is less consistent that way.

Some use the HST a lot and set the reg purposefully so they can adjust speed.

"kris"it is bullpoop, of course you can change the fps a bit but if you adjust it a lot, it will unbalance the gun.
i.e. it will not be consistent along the full fill. it will have trending.

to change the velocity properly, you need to adjust BOTH the reg and the hst. and that balancing act is very delicate and time consuming, if you have not done it before, you don't want to do it. leave it for tuners.

messing with hst or reg, without exactly knowing what you are doing is a recipe for disaster.
I get it. That said, I am too new to start messing with reg's and hst's. : )

Thanks,

It adjust the spring tension on the hammer. Nothing more. There is a fine balance between the hammer strike and valve opening timing so yes you can move your gun out of the region of best operation of the valve timing which will not only affect shot count but your FPS spread as well as a host of other parameters. Best to set (or leave it alone completely) and forget unless you have a deep understanding of all the parameters involved (Like Ernest Rowe and other master tuners).
