Kalibrgun has a .22 barrel 450 mm/ 17.71”. I have that one in a Cricket bullpup. After enlarging (mostly ovaling) it’s TP and porting the firing-valve, I have it sending the .25 RD Monsters at 895 fps for 45 shots on a 250 bar fill. This is with the .25 reservoir (350cc). It’s very accurate too. I need a custom shroud made as the short barrel makes for a drastic undershot bite look  

I noticed my cricket barrel's transfer port was oval as well. Can I assume that this is NOT the way they come from the factory? FWIW, the oval measure 6.25mm x 4.97mm.

That appears to be a normal .25 barrel port from factory. The .22 however, is not oval but smallish and round. Check the inner porting as this may already be radiused by someone. If its a 90 degree at the corner than its in factory trim.

What can be done to your .25 barrel port @mcoulter, is to radius the downstream side. First, with gun fully assembled, chamber a pellet and fully seat with the probe and decock the action. Take barrel out of the assembly. Using good lighting and a Dremel, with carbide burr and diamond burr, very carefully shape the port on the downstream side toward the I.D. The goal is the eliminate the 90 degree and create a gradual radius into the I.D.

The pellet that you previously chambered is used for an indicator to gauge your work on how far to shape. Stay short of it. No need to change the port’s O.D. dimensions on the .25 as it is fine as is.

As you finish up, clean all edges with a rubber burr. This includes the I.D. of the port. Use caution in doing this modification. You can ruin a barrel if you get ham-fisted and or not equipped to do this type intricate work with a die grinder.

I thought about the power plenum for the Black Stallion. Just don't feel like making a new moderator and LDC for it right this minute. A little clearance issue.
