Cricket 22 Rifle 60 yard group - Ten shots

"TonyT"I have also enjoyed the consistent superb accuracy of the Crickets. Both my 22 and 25 Crickets are stellar performers. I wish one could obtain the CZ barrels for use on other air rifles.
I've been looking into this recently. I'm still waiting to hear back from CZ but you can definitely buy replacement CZ barrels that have already been machined for specific rifles. You could lose a little length and get one of those machined for a different gun.

I don't get why CZ doesn't sell their air rifle blank online like LW, BSA and ST blanks. They sell their RF blanks.

Could it be no one has asked them?

A person who is now gone gone gone was the distributor for several years. CZ USA may well be under the only impression(s) they got whilest dealing with said person. They may have NO idea that an entire box of "air gun" barrels would likely sell before the next tax time inventory.

Anyone who might actually purchase a barrel from them IF available should let them know this.
Might not make a bit of difference, but there could be some chance they would order in such barrels if they knew they'd sell?

"blackdiesel"I have a 22 carbine also. It's a great shooting rifle. I'm waiting to get my 25 carbine from Allen Z after getting it tuned. I talked to him a couple of days ago and he said he did a test card of 12 shots at 60 yards and it's a little less than 1/2".
AZ tuned the 22 in the video, trigger is fantastic, took some time to get used of it, especially for hunting. Carbine in 25 should be an awesome gun and great for longer distances, have fun shooting it. If you speak with Allen please tell him Sam says hi.

I asked them so we'll see.

They might not know how well respected their air gun barrels are. The target shooting world seems to be dominated by LW.

Looking at what CZ USA sells on their web store and the prices, it's hard not to find a lot of respect for them. A company that makes a truly high quality product and sells it for a reasonable price is not that common anymore.

I have no experience with their 177 barrels but their 22's make me happy. They are a pleasure to own on my Mutant. They are not pellet fussy. They are accurate. I don't find them hard to maintain. I've had better luck with CZ 22's than I have with LW 22's but that could just be the guns they were attached to.

It could also be that they don't have the resources to sell one off blanks to end users. They might be at capacity supporting all the OEMs.

"Sam63"Im getting 46 - 50 shots at 33 - 34 fpe on a 210 bar fill, colder temps bring the shot count down. 225 bar and up mine becomes less efficient.
I have to try different fill pressures. I was under the impression that as long as it's still on the regulator the efficiency would be the same.
In every gun I've owned it hasn't been worth filling them past 250 bar in terms of air efficiency or performance. In some cases it's not worth filling past 225 bar.

I don't fully understand how regulators work but I know they aren't as sophisticated as some people think. Watch Ted's review of the Ataman Ultra Compact for an example of where a regulated gun doesn't start acting like one until pressure drops to 250 bar (from a 300 bar fill). It certainly isn't a given that the reg will just handle and equalize any pressure you throw at it.

Also, for a reg to function at it's best, it needs to be set up to run in harmony with the valve spring and hammer spring tension. If the HST is too high for the reg setting then it won't be great for efficiency.

It should be fairly easy to find your guns sweet spot by filling it to 250bar and checking how consistent and efficient it is for a full string. You may (or may not) find that you get fewer shots from the first 25 bar than the second.

I know all regulators are not created equal. On my 4 Hatsan guns I use either audrius or huma regulators and I tune them to the knee of the power curve and bottom out the hammer spring. On all of my guns I'm getting about a 4-5 fps spread. The only gun I fill higher than 200 bar is the 30 cal and that's so that it don't fall off the reg during the middle of a magazine.
