Coyotes to white tails at 50 yards.

Am a center fire and bow hunter and would like to migrate to air hunting at times. I take squirrels with a GAMO 177. I would believe 357 to 50 cal would be necessary for lung shots.

What’s the general consensus on a quality rig. Ill pay what’s needed for quality equipment. Thanks all.

If you are not in a big hurry, talk to Tom about a .357 Slayer over at American Air Arms. He builds them in lots of ten. You wont find a better built .308 or 357 big bore that's ready to shoot when you get it ,and nothing to modify to make it better, saves you down the road. These guns are custom designed and built by Tom. They are the shortest, lightest and quietest big bores around with the easiest cocking effort. Things to consider when looking at a big bore. These gun have tight tolerances and unique features not found on other guns, like a balanced valve, retractable bolt probe, titanium reservoir and a shroud that works with the built-in moderator. I have really enjoyed mine tuned at 280 FPE for 6 shots, but have tuned it up to 312 FPE (Its max with a 152 grain cast HP slug within a 2.5% ES). for 3 shots. More than enough to take down whatever within 50 yards, or more. It's very accurate with its 26" twist TJ barrel.

Why not? Is the meat too stringy, gamey? You can do wonders with a little salt water soak.
