What has happened to it? I joined one site that I thought was going to be the one, and I did realize that it was mostly PB's. As soon as i mentioned PCP I felt a shift start to happen 'you are under powered, you will have to get inside 50 yards? I have a Texan pushing 150gr at 990 fps. Then it was my tri-pod LOL, what happened to the days if you had the fpe to take them out you were good? you weren't judged by the cost of your gear. I can say I have never felt that way on any of the air gun sites, Thank GOD we have our own sites:ROFLMAO: I felt like saying: . “You can shoot powder all day—but if you’ve never run a Texan at 990 fps, maybe sit this one out.”

They don't understand that we can reach out and put it exactly where we want and not scare the rest off. It doesn't take much to whack a coyote. I'm a former 22 250 and 220 swift predator hunter. My airguns took over and the pbs only get cleaned now.

I'll take my 22-250 any day over any Airgun no comparison. I think a lot of you Airgun guys are delusional on think you can keep up with the guy that knows what he's doing with the 22 250
Different use case. One shot with the cf and the valley is blown out. Multiples is always nice.

I'm not saying airguns are a replacment, but they have a use and they're too often under estimated. It depends on your airgun and power level too obviously. I'm not going out with a springer even if there's a guy here getting yotes with a 12 fpe 177 springer at times. For me being quiet is my only advantage, and a bit higher precision.

Plus my hunting buddy and I seem to be able to call them in to pistol distances anyhow so I don't need to reach out and touch them 700 yards out.

Airguns are in several ways more similar to pb pistols than the pb rifles. Velocities are more similar to pistols and in both if you want more fpe the most practical way to get it is to go up in caliber. Because the velocity is so low the temporary cavity is really temporary in both so a bigger caliber makes sense to make sure the shot does enough damage.

I've never hunted with a pb pistol but I like air rifle hunting even though it does have limitations. I would certainly rather have a high velocity center fire pb for a shot of several hundred yards. A big bore air rifle would do enough damage in my estimation but the trajectory will be a big challenge. I only hunt small game with mine and take shots no more than about 50 yards. Airguns work well for me.

I think it is best for all of us who hunt to be respectful of others who hunt differently as long as they are not being obviously unethical. I have no problem with a pb guy who likes his 22-250 but I also have no problem with somebody who want to take coyotes with a big bore airgun.

Videos of airguns killing coyotes . It can be done once in a while. If you are wanting to kill coyotes get a pb and or traps . I’ll take traps any day for reducing populations. Sorry for pissin on your Wheaties
In some states you can't use a moderator on PB. I live in a 3-county farm land area and now days at least around here you touch off a PB at night even if it's legal it will have the state police looking for you. The longest shot here will be around 200 yards so the right tool would be a PCP for coyotes. Out west you have a different story, i guess. If you're just going for reducing coyotes, trapping will outproduce PB also.

I’m in the great state of Illinois 😂. No moderators allowed here. Let your landowners know what you will be doing and they won’t call the police. Shots fired around here are not illegal or giv en much thought. What is a 22 lr compared to your airgun/ fpe?
my .308 Texan with 150gr 325 fpe or so at 980ish fps. at 100-yard mark around 260 fpe VS At 100 yards, a standard .22 LR round may retain around 90 FPE, we live in a valley so shots echo alot . With a Yokozuna it takes the sharp crack out of it so it doesn't echo. I have taken shots and i have asked people in the area 200 yards from me and they didn't hear it

Well I shoot mine average of under 200 yards and it'll still whoop any Airgun out there
For some folks it isn’t about how many, it is about how.
That is why some folks fish with live bait and others use flys, why some folks hunt elk with a PB round and others use a bow.
Personally I don’t care how people hunt as long as it is legal and fair chase.
I killed a coyote with an air gun and it was a thrill. Once September rolls around I will be using both my PB and air powered rifles to hunt those coyotes.
Best of luck to all those chasing coyotes this year.
