Coyote hunting with high power .22?

I’ve been having issues with coyotes around my property lately so I’ve been wondering if my FX Impact .22 would be enough for a clean kill? I have the MKII with PP and a 700mm barrel. 

I was thinking about a heavy pellet or slug, of course.

What do you think? If I could save money on buying a barrel kit or a new rifle I’d prefer that if possible.

34gr slugs at 940fps or faster in 22 caliber should easily do the trick out to 100yds.

You should be able to get them to that speed with your gun no problem. A slug liner will give the best results with traditional slugs.

If using a pellet liner, I'd shoot the FX Hybrid slugs and aim for 990fps.

Thanks! I do have some of the hybrid slugs already. What are your thoughts on the 25 gr monster redesigns or the 34 grain beasts compared to slugs?

Go for head shot especially the temple area. I did my first and only coyote kill at 70 yards with my FX Crown shooting the AA 18gr at 32 ftlb. It can be done. Placement shot is the key.

I have mine set with 25 gr redesigned monsters at 960 and I belive it is capable enough if it shoots well in your rifle.

Hit the brain and it will drop like a sack of potatoes. The more relaxed he is, the more likely he is to hold still long enough to pull that off. If he’s nervous and has the spastic head bob going on, forget about it. A centerfire to the vitals is the right medicine in that case.

was going to say maybe,and maybe don't be working,so then all about shot placement,then yes....being confident in your ability is more important than grains.
