Coyote Hit Hard! Need advice! HELP!!! VIDEO

Your computer must auto sign you in. I clicked it and the exact same screen as seen in the embedded version pops up because I don't have a YT account. And you can't watch it without one now, which was not the case only a few weeks back.

I wonder if they are doing this to all hunting videos henceforth. It's not like kids don't hunt as well.

No, the uploader most likely has it set to age restriction. Channels that have been flagged may have certain restrictions implemented by YouTube. This would be rare though.

Sign in with Gmail if you have an account. Google owns Youtube, so that should get you in, it does for me.

davidsng, did you find your critter? It took a well placed hit from where it was biting at what stung it, but I'm new to air gunning and 70 yards with 80 fpe is a stretch, I'd think. You should be retaining plenty, but you may have stretched the shot? Do you have a bounty on them? We used to but they stopped years ago. I guess they were paying out too much, but we made good money in HS on ears and tails.

All aside, you did exactly what you should have. Back out and start in daylight. Give things time to finish off and don't push the animal. I really expected pics when I came in today.

No I never found him. Like members said, he ran to thick cover. No blood trail, I could not pin point an exact area. I spent 3 hours, nothing.

Yea, I thought the. 25 shooting 47 grain .17 bc boattails at 84fpe would pencil through and leave a leaking blood trail, but wrong.

I just bought the same gun in .357 compact. It says 180fpe, so I should get 160 realistically, which is double the power. I will not run into this problem again.

I'll watch it when I get home tomorrow on the wife's tablet. She's got a Gmail account and a YT also. I'm a Luddite :)

Thanks for the advice.

LOL. I have one because the company i used to work for used it for their business platform, It is a feature rich mailbox and works well with lots of percs, calendars, tasks, docusign. Email accounts don't go away easily. I still find ties to my yahoo account that I really haven't used in 8 years. It doesn't take anything to keep them open, and not really sure they will completely go away if you try.

Yotes are tough. All of the creatures out there are. He's probably dead, but it would have been batter to find him that way and end the second guessing. If it did pencil through, the critter would bleed out before dropping a drip. The angles have a way of doing this. Wounds close if not given a reason to stay open.

On paper, you should have still been 73-75fpe on target, and that should take care of business, I'd think. I am new to airgunning though. Looks like you have taken steps to solve that.

I've tracked many deer shot from a ground blind and never found a drip. Fortunately I've only lost one, but found the remains the next day. The local fauna had a nice meal off of it. LostWife and I walked all around it. Nosler Partitions aren't well suited for west Texas deer, a bit slow to open. I was loaded for an elk hunt that I left for from camp.

Yea, yotes are tough and they run long distances fast. It going to bug me for a long time. Im going to go back out in a few days and look for vultures. The thought of not knowing is driving me crazy. All the time and effort....oh well. I'll just regroup with a new gun that will blow through 3 coyotes with a hollow point and leave blood trails from their guts dragging behind them. That should work next time.

Groundhogs, Rockchucks and Coyotes are incredibly tough... I would wait for the headshot at a range you are certain of...if using an airgun.

i say this having made my share of mistakes.

Yea, I'm going back out to the range and try to get an heated apple 10 out of ten times. I I can do that, I will go head shots.

Hi Dave I had gotten over 20 yotes with PCP guns and I have taken them with the edgun 22 and 30 calibers and also the Taipan 22 , I like solid slugs I only lost 1 coyote with a 47 gr hollow point ,

I watched video 3 times and I think it was hit hi which is why it ran off , I could be wrong but usually 80fpeeven with heart shots under 70 yds with a 22 cal and with 30s I find they never get over 10 yards ,

if you dont have one grab your self a LTO hd monoclur great for tracking and finding game for me

LOU

Dogs work well, bit of an investment though.
