Could FX ever become a barrel supplier to other manufacturers?

I can see this is not going to happen while they are struggling to keep up with demand at the moment.

Last year at the release of the Crown and the new barrel system I remember a video where Ed from Edgun seems to be asking about the barrels. The answer was not while we are struggling with demand.

An example of what I’d like to see is the new Daystate electronic rifle the red wolf fitted with an fx smooth-x barrel....
They source the barrels from LW anyway, would it really matter if it came from FX?

If Your saying that FX s barrel design is what differentiates it from the competition I would doubt that they would get into the supply side barrel business. I think it’s more likely the Chinese will figure out how to steal the manufacturing method and supply their version of the X barrel with just enough difference to keep the lawyers away. No that said I can imagine some handy shooters that can get a x barrel figure out how to adapt it to another rifle.

If selling there barrels to other manufacturers could be done as extra sales that did not impact on the sales of there own guns why wouldn’t they do it?
They have invested heavily in the technology and apparently the machines that produce the barrels can do this quickly, easily and cheaply. Very few airgun manufacturers produce there own barrels and one way for FX to take full advantage of what they have may be to move into the business of supplying barrels.

Other company’s seam to do well producing and selling airgun barrels like Lothar Walther and I would think FX could produce them cheaper than LW so why not move into that business.?

Supplying the barrels may also stop the inevitable efforts of someone trying to copy the idea. If you can obtain the fx unit at a reasonable price why would you go to all the expenses of trying to produce something similar.

I see all these great options and features on these awesome guns but what I don't see is the follow up. I just started to see Impact barrels recently offered in a normal internet format at the bigger dealers like AOA and Utah Air, to buy a crown with hopes to get an x barrel within a timely manner is a distant dream from past experiences I have seen. These manufacturers don't seem to walk the walk when it comes to what is displayed and talked about. I may be way off but watching a 2017 shot show video and still not seeing the promises come true makes me wonder what they are all doing to satisfy the masses. It would be nice to see one of the peeps that question these manufacturers at shot shows to put them on the spot about their lack of supplying what they say they will. If you don't mind waiting months for a gun and another 6-12 months for accessories then you're all set. Me I want what is displayed or at least be honest and tell me I got no shot of seeing this or that for at least another year at a store in the USA. Ok, I will stop ranting now.
