Corbin vs Presslug

My comparison on slugs made with Thor Molds Press Slug and AVS slugs in .3063 and my thoughts on Corbin press and the PressSlug press

Really appreciate the time, effort and the reasoning behind your decision between the different presses! Hopefully the next time out Mother Nature will treat you better!

All right damn it one more vid. Because of Thor Press Slug design, the Ogive, or nose of the slug is more rounded, I can increase the weight of the slug without increasing the length because using the AVS 62.5 slug was getting pretty close to the maximum length slug I could use. With the thorpress styled slug, more rounded, I can get up to 70 g. I'll see how they shoot tomorrow

I'm scratching my head on this one. If your increasing the weight, it has to go somewhere.
The shape of the ogive is why, more rounded less narrow

Tuning 60gn ThorPress Slugs. I shot a couple groups today nothing crazy great but I'm just shooting off of a bipod at 100 yards. Groups are about an inch and a half which I am more than happy with because again I'm just shooting with a bipod and not a sled. I'm sure if I had a sled and locked it down they'd be under an inch plus I have a crappy $40 scope definitely not for precision shooting. Spent more time tuning it and tomorrow shoot for groups but I'm really thinking to tune it down a bit. I'm at 175 bar and I just think it shot better at lower pressure. Had a little fun blasting sweet potatoes and look at the chronograph results I set it up at muzzle and then again at the hundred yard. Still shooting over 90 ft pounds at 100 yards. Came close to ruining my chronograph just skimmed it with one of the Slugs

So worse than the AVS?
No, seems to shoot the same. I shot 1" groups with AVS also until I pushed up to 175 bar then groups opened up the same. That's why on the video I said I was probably gonna tune it down a bit. I think if I drop it down to about 900fps they should shrink down. With the AVS 62.5gn I was shooting them about 850 fps. Not sure why once I'm hitting 950+ fps with either AVS or these Thorpress slugs my groups start opening up. Maybe I just haven't found the sweetspot on the hammer spring tension
