Contemplating Upgrading my SCBA Tank Valve. Suggestions?

I’ve got some SCBA tanks and I’d like to try a new valve where I have better control over the flow of fill pressure. So far I have only used Air Venturi Jubilee valves. I have a DIN300 fill set on my compressor, so getting an Omega HP3 would require that I hit base an addition fill set. Does anyone have any other options I should be looking at? I haven’t read a lot of favorable things about the Saber Tactical valves. The aftermarket valves I’m considering are:

Joe B’s TJ3 valve

Omega HP3 Valve

I have a couple AirMarksman valves that are sold by Utah Airguns. I bought one used here on the forum and another new from UA when they had a promotion. I don't know if they are as governed as the Joe B valves or the HP3 , but with the large knobs , they are easy to modulate and get the flow that you are after . The downside , the main gauge is not very accurate . It reads about 30 bar higher than the ones that I trust .

@grackleblast Have you considered swapping out gauges on your Airmarksman valve?

I just noticed that in the first photo of the Utah Airguns Air Marksman valve there is a Joe B valve on the tank in the background. The TJ3 valve looks like a good place to start. I like the look of the older HP3 valves with the knurled metal knob, but the male Foster fill port makes it easy to pass on because I'd have to purchase another fill set to accommodate it.

I noticed you said you wanted to control the flow better. That wont help with that unless you meant you needed a better gauge setup. I wanted to have a gauge on the scuba and have the ability to tether 2 tanks together at the bench when Im shooting my big bores.
@Nealgl1985 I want to be able to have better control of the output flow from the SCBA. I think it would be really helpful for filling PCP pistols. Are you Saying that the Joe B valve doesn't control the air flow that well?

I have 2 of Joe's valves/tanks that are probably 13+ years old now and they are still working like the day I bought them. I ended up with this setup for my used scuba i bought. View attachment 594669
I really never understand the benefit of one of these besides using it to tether an airhog big bore to 2 tanks while ammo testing or target shooting. What else do you use yours for? Does it help control the air flow? By air flow I mean the rate of speed by which you fill a PCP’s reservoir.

These valves are great for tethering. If you put regulator on last bottle. You’re good to go. Valve are in the 3 common sizes

@Ezana4CE i have 2 45 texans, 2 257 texans, 1 72 zues(dont shoot this 1 much though), 1 357 slayer. I like to go though about 200 rounds per shooting session. I bought the stikman setup so I could tether 2 tanks together while i was at the bench testing/tuning/shooting. I find i can get around 120 shots on the 257 and maybe 60-70 with the 45 before it reaches my external regulator set point when using 1 tank. 2 tanks gets me enough I dont have to use the booster pump.

I know you have a couple big bores so I figured I would throw that out there as an option. I see you are only worried about controlling flow rate so the stikman is probably not necessary for you. I dont have an issue with the flow on Joe's valves but it can be fast or slow depends on how slow you Crack the valve. It goes 0-100 real quick though. Its not 1 turn to open it up its more like barely crack it to get it flowing.

Are you looking for a more restricted flow so you can open the valve and not worry about putting out too much flow or you are hoping the knob on the new valve assembly will make it easier to handle so you can slowly Crack it open?

This might be a cost effective option if you are strictly looking for restriction. Some guns will also have a screw inside that will allow you to adjust the flow rate of air the gun will allow in.

Quickly hook up your PCP guns with this quick-disconnect adapter. Multiple connection possibilities! This adapter includes a flow restrictor that is easy to install. This will fill your PCP airguns slowly and reduce the amount of heat built up in the cylinder. Quick-disconnect female to 1/8" BSPP male adapter. Max 5000 psi

I ordered 1 of those valves and a tank but FedEx lost the package. I thought they would be great for hunting off a tripod with a pack hanging from the tripod tethered to my texans.

@Nealgl1985 I’m mainly worried about flow restriction on air guns with small reservoirs and/or low maximum pressure fills. Like my Prod or GK1. I may need to finally give a Stikman a shot. I could actually use it right now. I’m out with two bottles shooting a big bore at the moment.
I just ordered that fitting 3 days ago wtih the male half also,, I will use it when filling tank to pistol/guns, it has a set screw in the female half, that reduces the flow rate,,, I will use when filling guns but remove it when recharging bottle

@jarmstrong That’s what I wanted to read (hear)! Thanks.
