Compressors

Are there compressors in the $200-$400 range that doesn't need a water bucket? I am VERY new to pcos, tanks and compressors so I see that the affordable YH one but it needs a bucket of water. I would never have thought they or it would need one. I assumed that as long as it's greased and oiled that would be enough. So again is there ones in that orice range that just needs grease and/or oil?? Also any good leads as to a affordable scba tanks? Not the little ninja ones but those 30 45 or 60min ones? Also what type of local shops would have HPA hoses and QC foster fittings? Like HVAC or welding shops? Or how about a regular home depot or hardware store?

Why are you so adversed to water cooling? Its cheap and effective, don't forget the massive work these little compressors do. Using water to cool them isnt a big deal to me.

You can get one of the nomads for double the price that just uses grease and maybe get a month out of them.

So you want a $200 to $400 compressor that is not water cool and can fill a large cf tank? Lmao. Are you serious? Do you know how much heat these hpa compressor generate? A lot. Even with water cooled they reach up to 160 degrees or more. There are smaller compressor like the av nomad, hatsan spark, Benjamin travel. But they are $400 to $700. They used fans to cool it. But they can not fill a large tank. They are only made to fill guns. If you want a non water cool and can fill tanks, the daystate is the one. But it's $2000. All other compressor that fills tank will use water, cause it gets really hot when you generate that much pressure.

I guess he doesn't know how hot these hpa compressor gets. Water is the best to cool down hot engine parts. That's why our cars used them. These small compressor that doesn't use water like the av nomad, hatsan spark, Benjamin travel breaks down within a few months. That's why I stay away from them. I rather have a water cool compressor that will last year's, than a fan cool compressor that last maybe a month.

Google is your friend try, Shoe Box.

The shoebox isnt a compressor. It's a booster. It needs it's own compressor that can output about 100 psi. Then the shoebox will boost that 100 psi into 4500 psi hense the word booster. It's really slow. I hear it takes 10 hours to fill a large tank. I dont think op wants to wait 10 hours to fill a tank. Shoebox is $500. Then you need a shop compressor with it. OP range is $200 to 400. In op range, the best compressor for the price is the yong heng. Will fill a tank is about an hour. Its fast, compact, and only $200-230 on ebay. But it used water. There is this compressor for $300. Works great and doesnt used water or need it's own shop compressor.

Glen, not adveesed to water. It just seems like another extra stepbfor me to mess up but your opinion is pretty good idea. Link me some tanks if you would please

Im also new. But it is easy yong heng a scba tank on ebay mines a 45 minute masa and your fill hose also ebay and a male to male foster and I don’t even have $500 into the set up . With a bucket of ice water i keep the guns and bottle topped off and change the oil in compressor on a maintenance cycle based on use, i use home depo air compressor oil and keep a log book with compressor minutes of run time

Agree. The water is really only a slight inconvenience to me. And the ability to add ice if needed to increase cooling can be an advantage. For the price noted by the OP, nothing much seems to work as well and (generally) reliably as the Yong Heng class of compressors.

I have purchased two of these, and they work well. The 120 volt PS comes with them, but the motor itself is a nominal 12 VDC, and can be operated using a car battery.

Track record? Can it fill larger tanks as YH can? Maybe they will work well and I wish you luck with it but it seems much less proven than the YH which many people are using successfully.

The smallish air cooled compressors are not made to run for extended periods of time they overheat rapidly. They are made to fill a gun or the tiniest of tanks. I would imagine that one could possibly fill a larger tank just a few minutes at a time though. I doubt the longevity would be there as compared to the Yong Heng or similar water cooled units which can run for 30 minutes or longer and have proven themselves to last for a couple of years anyway.

The shoebox only needs a small shop compressor which can be used for more than just as the 1st stage of booster. The shoebox is made in the USA and all of the parts are readily available and from I've read most time it's just some Orings needing to be changed. I do agree that the OP would need a tank to fill his guns with where the YH you don't but you're not very mobile with the YH where you would be with a tank. I know one of the reasons I haven't gone to the range so far is I didn't have a tank to refill the rifle but do now so...... I have a YH knock off right now and I'm a little nervous about filling my tank all of the way to 4500 psi where when I get the shoebox booster I'll have no worries IMHO.
