Compressor Purchase Help

The GX compressors are top notch....as long as you:
1) use them as intended
2) do maintenance on them, even though GX doesn't specify it.
I have thee CS2's and there is a CS3 next door ans another CS2 my buddy has. All are around 2 years old and the two that are not mine get abused unmercifully and still run because I've kept them serviced. Two of mine will normally see daily use.

What is this undocumented maintenance that you do? Is it preventative or repair work?

Good deal is subjective. You can nickle and dime over time or buy once cry once. Parts specs are fun. Like rod lengths and crashing pistons.

The 3 that I had were low quality control and bordering on dangerous in some aspects. I would've prefered to buy 5 Shoebox clones with that money.

Personally I think that the cost of replacement parts for the YH are a bit of a rip off since the sum of spare parts will pretty quickly put it into new compressor territory....not to mention the sweat equity that needs to be invested into fixing it. I have other things I'd rather be doing

I'm with you. After having the hengs I like the little Shoebox knockoffs more from Amazon. They're disposable cheap and I keep one as a backup to my big tuxing 4 cylinder. I rebuilt 2 of my hengs several times(never seals or reed valves) and was just done with it for the amount of oil and water condensate they put out. After busted crank cases, a ruined rod and stage 1 piston, i gave up on them.

FR this is Airgun Nation...not Compressor Nation

I don't mind the act of tanking air, but having another thing about the garage that needs fixing wasn't part of the plan when I bought the compressor.
