Compressor Bearing

Looking at the failures of a lot of the compressors, I'm wondering if anyone has looked at modifying the crank bearing to improve reliability? My first YH blew a rod and made a hole in the case. I think I can repair the hole and rebuild it but the way the bearing is made still is a concern.

Seems I did read about one individual having the rod bored and placing an bearing in. No followup as far as I know.

I think it will be easier to just replace the rod if the wearing is excessive. Of all the failure reports I have come across, rod breaking is very rare. Mine has about 7 hours of run time and no significant wearing of the rod bearing can be seen. I am convinced that it will be good for the next 10 hours.
